In a compelling display of aquatic talent, Bateen World Academy demonstrated their swimming prowess at the ADISSA Senior Round 1 meet, securing several standout performances across multiple age groups and events.
The day's highlights came from the senior swimmers, with Sam Bousamra and Lorence Telkamp leading the charge. Bousamra dominated the 15 & Over 50m backstroke with a decisive victory, clocking an impressive 38.69 seconds. Telkamp followed this success by claiming 1st place in the 50m breaststroke (42.66) and securing second in the backstroke, showcasing the depth of talent in Bateen's senior squad.
Omar Bahri emerged as the standout performer in the 13-14 age category, claiming 1st in the 50m backstroke with an exceptional time of 32.99 seconds – one of the most impressive performances of the meet. The girls' side saw equally promising results, with Habiba Osmanly and Yasmeen Zaher securing second and third places respectively in the breaststroke event.
The relay events highlighted Bateen's team strength, particularly in the upper age groups. The Girls 15 & Over team delivered a golden performance, winning their 200m Freestyle Relay in 2:53.52. Both 13-14 teams showed remarkable consistency, each securing second-place finishes in their respective races. The Boys 15 & Over finished with a strong performance of 2:12.69 taking first-place.
In the 11-12 age group, Hamza Osmanly led the younger contingent with a strong fourth-place finish in the 50m breaststroke (45.05), suggesting bright prospects for the academy's future. The age group's relay team secured a commendable third place, demonstrating growing team cohesion among the younger swimmers.
With strong performances across multiple age groups and particularly impressive showings in the backstroke and breaststroke events, Bateen World Academy has established a solid foundation for the season.
